Chatbot

A chatbot is a program that answers people in a chat window, either by following fixed menus and keywords or by using an AI model to understand messages written in everyday language and reply from approved information, handing over to a person when needed.

Menu chatbots are predictable but break when a question is phrased differently. AI chatbots handle free text, and the good ones stay within approved information and say when they are not sure.
