AI agent

An AI agent is an AI program that works towards a goal by planning steps and taking actions in connected systems, such as creating a booking or a ticket, rather than only replying with text. Good agents have clear limits and hand over to a person when unsure.

The difference from a chatbot is action: a chatbot answers, an agent can also do things. That makes limits, logging and human hand-off important.
